Aashiq aawara…!
I know the title is quite funny and absurd as well… but the things that I’m going to talk of are nothing less!
Â
Let’s talk of Delhi alone, as I’m a Delhite myself and well acquainted with the roads and the passers by! Though, I’m somewhat sure that the scene in the rest of Indian metros is nothing less.
Girls stopped walking in lonesome places … thinking, wild dogs won’t harass them in public places. But then the much talked of cases like the MAMC and DU rape case happened!
And that made the picture even uglier!
Girls aren’t safe in crowded places such as colleges as well!
When a girl walks by… at times it’s like “jaadu (the alien in Hrithik roshan’s flicks) himself descended and the world is gazing…!
Girls are the “gazing stock everywhere but it’s not as uncomfortable as some Delhi roads!
There’s only one option that ensures that the girl wont be pinched and that’s???
“Take a convoy along with you whenever you want to stroll down the market
Is it possible???
In all probability its not!
So, be prepared to get pinched!!!
You get comments, you get pinched, you are chased, you are harassed..!
But that’s not all…
The latest trend is…. Propose a girl… if she accepts its fine otherwise…. Get some acid… spill it right on her face and that’s it!
I remember one such case which happened in Gurgaon (a city just touching Delhi) sometime back. This time a girl studying in tenth was targeted by another student in the same standard!!! This guy accidentally spilled acid on him as well and that’s the reason why he got arrested so easily! These cases are more common in small towns… as far as I noticed. And those girls aren’t in a position to take the help of modern surgeons.
There’s an alarming increase in acid spilling cases. Every now and then a girl is victimized. I’m not putting any link here… cause I don’t feel the need. It’s always in the news…. Time and again, it’s in the news that one girl was attacked for she refused a guy’s proposal…..
They don’t even care, that their heinous act will destroy one life completely….! May be the taste of revenge is so good that they ignore the basic thing that there’s a difference between love and obsession!
I don’t know what punishment Indian constitution or any other law has for such “aashiqs but I strongly feel the need of a rigorous punishment for such devils! I wonder if they punished or what!
They should not be spared!
What is happening to Indian society? Why aren’t the people moved by such incidents? It can be any girl… any girl for that matter!

And what about the men who get refused? and what about the revealing clothes girls wear these days? isn’t that an invitation? delhi girls are so modern that they won’t mind losing their virginity early and in a recent survey it was found that 65% of the girl, in that age group 18-23, isn’t a virgin!! was she forced??
but i do feel that strict rules should be made of these ashique awaraas because in most cases its the girl from the lower class who is harassed…girls from thee upper class can afford security..i call them high class whores!

Well I don’t support girls blindly!
You are not pained more than me when I look at them treating themselves as objects and abusing their own bodies!
But as u pointed out violence is generally against girls who don’t belong to this “so-called” upper class!
And that’s my point. I agree with your stats on virginity, but if you know a survey was also conducted on the girls who are frequently targeted, and as you said rich girls who “show their skin” can afford security but middle class girls cannot!
And that is why mostly these “covered” girls are harassed!
If u can believe it then I have seen girls properly veiled getting harassed. Its not like only men are responsible for everything but I haven’t heard of women raping men and spilling acid on their faces!
Though I still agree that women are no less!

the middle class girls who travel in buses and walk on the raods are being discussed here!

Clothes don’t matter as such harassment happen everyday in Karachi and other parts of Pakistan too. I heard men go nuts in crowded places and even during Hajj they can’t keep their hands to themselves. They pinch, grope, push and what not and we all know how conservative women dress during Hajj. Due to this retard behavior women are restricted at Kabba. Yuo that’s what we need to reward men for their short comings.

sis mariam,
i agree, even i heard that women face a lot of problems in haram shareef though it sounds crazy that even there people cannot control their lust!

salaams. things that u have described happen in chennai too especially in public buses.
but in general the public in chennai is a little protective. if girls alarm those nearby then public usually takes action. but then seldom do girls raise their voice.
i do not agree that in the hareem shareef people push do to lust. there are 1001 reasons why people collide or get roughed up there. i m myself been badly bruished by african men and women who tend to go much faster and collide with others. i cant describe the beauty of the crowd there, it has to be experienced.

wa alaikum assalaam,
well what mariam talked of was the rumour that was rife before ramadan shareef that the women’s section at the haram shareef will be shifted.
i myself searched for that and that is a rumour. the authorities made it clear after sometime.
coming to men pushing women out of lust well…no ones generalising. i heard the samething about african men and women..thats a different case altogether.
for a girl to understand a clean and a lusty vision…is not a difficult job you see. not all men are the same. but its kind of sick that “some” men cannot control their urges in that place!
anyways, thats something that was even shown on T.V. and i was myself told about that by a few people.
in the end as they “each man by himself”
*grin*
